Located at our river launch site, Fleetwoods was the expansion that stopped our begging tours for river access and gave us room to sleep another 80 guests — mostly school groups, occasionally corporates who want team-building without distractions.
Just up the road sits Fleetwoods, Hadeda Creek’s cheeky sister camp — the 13-hectare paddling launch that began as our emergency “please-don’t-make-us-beg-farmers” purchase and ended up with its own personality. Fleetwoods was where we tested our wilder ideas: impromptu night hikes that turned into ghost-story marathons, a dubious attempt at a “silent disco” for teachers (silent until the vuvuzelas kicked in), and the infamous Canoe Karaoke Challenge — competitors paddling in tandem while belting out power ballads. One year the judges disqualified a team for “excessive enthusiasm” after they capsized mid-chorus but still finished the song onshore.
Fleetwoods also earned its stripes during the floods: it was where we learned to move entire kitchens before breakfast and developed the fine art of plumbing with hope and spare billycans. Today it sleeps 80 hungry, muddy, and inexplicably musical schoolkids, and serves as the perfect escape when Hadeda Creek needs a quieter, slightly rowdier cousin. Together they’re a two-stop lesson in river survival, teacher endurance, and how many marshmallows are socially acceptable at one campfire.

13 Hectares. One Camp. Total Game-Changer.
School Dorms
No-frills, multi-bed units designed for the organized chaos of school camps. Bunk beds, shared ablutions, mattresses provided. Clean, functional, and the setting for midnight conversations that teachers pretend not to hear. Accommodates up to 80 students and chaperones comfortably.
1-Bedroom Tents
For teachers, camp coordinators, or the occasional family group joining a school booking. Ensuite, comfortable, and blessedly quieter than the dorms. Proper beds, private bathrooms, and enough distance from teenage energy to actually sleep.
Why Fleetwoods Works
Fleetwoods operates as a self-contained campus — you can run an entire school camp, corporate retreat, or large family reunion without ever leaving the property. River access is immediate (we own the launch site). Activities are coordinated from here. Meals happen on-site. Accommodation is consolidated.
But here’s the beauty: Fleetwoods guests have full access to Main Camp facilities when they want them. Shuttle service connects the two camps (it’s a short drive), so groups can use Hadeda Creek’s pools, climbing wall, zipline, paintball arena, and restaurant without being confined to one location.
It’s the best of both worlds: focused base camp with expansion options.
The Fleetwoods Vibe
Slightly more remote. Quieter at night (fewer camps competing for soundspace). River-focused (you’re right at the launch point). Purpose-built for groups who want immersive experiences without urban distractions.
Teachers love it because containment = easier headcounts. Kids love it because the Riverdeck feels like their private overlook. Corporate groups love it because there’s nowhere to escape to — which sounds threatening but actually builds the team cohesion they came for.
And when 80 teenagers leave after four days, the silence that descends is both peaceful and slightly eerie. Until the next group arrives, and the boma fire gets lit again, and the dining hall erupts with laughter, and Fleetwoods remembers why it exists.
Fleetwoods isn’t just accommodation — it’s a focused base camp where 80 people become one story.
